Bike Month Kickoff Event: Public Art Ride!

Save The Date! More details to follow as we continue to scout out the perfect route! Join us on a group ride weaving through Lafayette and West Lafayette streets, alleys and trails that feature public art. (8-12 miles total estimated, and we will post the actual length, and updated end time, once the route is finalized.)

Led by Bicycle Lafayette and Virtuous Cycles, and celebrating the release of the documentary-BIKELANTIS ( featuring our great city and many others as well. Free, all ages, and all part of an entire weekend kicking off the upcoming Bike Month events as well! Come out and be a part of riding, discussion, community, and exploring the ways in which bike culture is shifting within our area, and other areas all over the United States.

Lafayette is located at 40°24′38″N 86°52′29″W (40.410585, -86.874681)[16] and lies in Fairfield and Wea Townships. Elevation at the court house is 550 feet (168 m), but city elevations range from a little over 500 feet (150 m) at the Wabash River to approximately 700 feet (210 m) in the areas of Murdock Park and Columbian Park.

According to the 2010 census, Lafayette has a total area of 27.74 square miles (71.85 km2), all land.
